Four Months Old

My little man is four months old today. Where has the time gone? It’s amazing to see all the progress he has made in just those four short months. He has developed such a great personality. He’s a goofy little boy. He loves funny faces, especially if you’re the one to make them. If you say a funny word it makes him laugh and smile. He enjoys flying around like an airplane (we’ll see soon how he does on a real airplane). His favorite past time is bath time. Splashing in the water brings a great smile to his face. One odd quirk of his is that he loves to have his diaper changed. I find it such an odd thing but he has loved it since he’s been a couple weeks old. I’m hoping that’s a good sign for future potty training. His newly acquired skill is being able to stable himself a little more in a sitting position. Of course, that doesn’t last very long when he suddenly falls forward in an effort to grab his feet. He does put some weight on his legs and loves to dance. We have attempted solids and its a big hit! I first let him suck on a piece of clementine and he loved it. Avacados were next on the menu and they were equally a big hit. Currently he’s weighing in at a whopping 15 lbs. I’m not exactly sure his height as his doctor’s appointment is not till Tuesday. I never knew that such a little person could have such a strong grip on my heart. Seeing his little smile can turn my gloomy days into bright sunny ones.  I adore seeing the smile on his face as Michael and I lather him in kisses.  He’s our sweet boy.

Anniversary Date

Our anniversary is not till March 4th but since Michael had today off we celebrated it today. Our original plan was to go out to Olive Garden for dinner and just have a nice little time. Michael, however, had planned a nice little surprise for me. For a while now I’ve been mentioning to him that I needed more clothes. Most of my pre-pregnancy clothes were either too small or I couldn’t really nurse in them. I was also a little too small for my pregnancy clothes and frankly; I was getting really tired of wearing the same three or four shirts all the time. Michael took the hint and surprised me with a little shopping spree. He said I had “this amount” of money to spend on whatever I wanted. (Isn’t he great?!)He wanted me to buy anything I would like to make myself feel beautiful. (It can get tough to feel beautiful when you’re in sweats wearing spit up stained shirts.) I was thrilled. I love to shop; this made my little heart happy. Out we went to go shop to my little hearts content. I purchased a few much needed items along with some desirables. It was definitely a marvelous surprise. After refreshing ourselves at home we headed out for dinner. Like I had mentioned beforehand, we had planned to go out to eat at Olive Garden. Unfortunately when we arrived there were no parking spaces available. With Olive Garden out of the question we decided on Texas Roadhouse knowing that there might be a wait (as there would be anywhere we went) but at least we would be able to park our car (their parking lot is HUGE!). Our dinner was scrumptious and the time very enjoyable. All in all it was a lovely anniversary date.
